ache1
before she became ache1 (chewing furiously upon the plastic cap of
her pen before scribbling): This morning
Gemma phoned to say her mum was taking her and her sister for a walk out the
old railway tracks and she wanted to know if I wanted to go as well. They came
round for me about quarter after eleven and we set off. The sun was shining.
Her mum always makes a great picnic, and we stopped out by the little hut
that’s underneath the bridge to eat it. We had chicken sandwiches and Pepsi
cola. Yum! We filled two big bags full of berries we picked and Gemma’s mum
says she’s going to make each of us a little pot of jam if there’s enough of
them. And we saw some rabbits as well, and then later when we were on our way
home we saw a dead one too. I’m glad we didn’t take Judas with us after all or
he would have been chasing them all over the place. Dad was late home from work
again tonight so we had dinner without him. It’s funny when he’s not there at
the table because it feels like the table should fall over without him at his
chair to keep everything balanced. Tomorrow my sister is supposed to be taking
me into town to do some shopping for some stuff I’ll need when we go back to
school next week. Pencils and stuff. But she probably won’t.
